Broken Promises

Just a short note.  In my post, Prelude, I promised a retrospective of the last decade.  I did start writing it but it felt hokey and foolish.  Also there were so many in the media, all of them so incredibly irriatating that I decided not to add to the tide of nonsense.  There was nothing I could add of any great worth so I left the subject for others to paw over and make their own messes with.

Having made my apologies for breaking one promiseI now make another one.  I promise to try to write at least one post a week starting from now.  (This post counts as the first week I hasten to add).   There is at least one book review in the pipeline which I have to do for LibraryThing.com anyway so I will post it here too.  I am also going to start venting about my current employment and living situations but I will give them a post of their own at some point, probably next week.  Like I said this is just a short note. The first proper, lengthy post, will follow next week some time.

Prelude

I set up this blog a little while ago now; about three months I think.  As you can see it has remained blank up until this point.  I would apologise for this, but as I have had no views of the site either I suppose there is no-one I really need to apologies to, is there?  I am afraid that this has been a bit of a problem with previous blogs also.  This version, however, is the consolidation of both style and content of all previous attempts.  Along with a more determined fresh start, I can only hope that this blog will be both longer lived and more worth while for anyone who happens to read it.

In terms of content the only word that fits my intention is: eclectic.  I intend to offer my humble opinions on a range of subjects from news and other sources, reviews of all sorts of media encounters and even some of my amateurish attempts at fiction.

All of this is going to start in January, on January 1st 2010 to be precise, with a retrospective of the last decade from my point of view and will continue from there to wherever the next one will take it.  I hope somone will read it and enjoy it but that remains to be seen.  Also I would welcome any and all comments, suggestions and criticisms along the way.

See you all in the New Year, meanwhile if you want to follow me on Twitter then find AndrewJRitchie.
